So many lovely and appreciative people in the cinema on Friday who all played their part in giving this wonderful little Canadian documentary the UK debut it deserved.  You were all absolutely blinding, above and beyond all of our expectations.  I really can’t thank you enough for coming.

Thank you to Champion Hardcore Fighters for powering through the technical problems and being the perfect introduction to the night.  Your chaos blew my mind and we can’t wait to work with you both again, SOON [we hope].

The Filthy Tabernacle

Playing before the screening of NO FUN CITY, Champion Hardcore Fighters are a two-piece rowdy noise ensemble from London.  Drawing comparions to the likes of Lightning Bolt and Pink & Brown, their angular arrangements and brute force are sure to go down a treat.

And to top it all off, they will be playing in the bar area of the cinema. That’ll be cosy one then.

A DOCUMENTARY FILM ABOUT DIY CULTURE, LOUD MUSIC, ILLEGAL VENUES AND THE WAR ON FUN. Featuring JAPANDROIDS, DOA, SKINNY PUPPY, 3 INCHES OF BLOOD AND MANY MORE.

As part of the month long OXJAM music festival, set up to raise money and awareness for the Oxfam charity, the Prince Charles Cinema has kindly offered to host the British premiere of Canadian independent music documentary, ‘NO FUN CITY‘ directed by Melissa James and Kate Kroll.

Along with the screening we are happy to announce that London’s SHIELD YOUR EYES will be bringing our DIY dedicated evening to a suitably noisy close.

We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect band to be part of this.  Check them out, you will not be disappointed
